Local First

In the lead-up to Christmas, Federal Member for Hinkler David Batt has launched a ‘local first’ campaign.

Mr. Batt, together with the State Member for Hervey Bay, David Lee, and the State Member for Burnett, Stephen Bennett, have joined forces for the 2025 ‘local first’ campaign across various platforms, including social media and radio.

Federal Member for Hinkler David Batt said it’s all about supporting jobs, family businesses, and the community first.

Locals can stay connected with the campaign on socials using the hashtag #LocalFirst.

“It’s about supporting our tourism operators, farmers, fishermen, hospitality, and local family businesses across our region,” Mr. Batt said.

“Let’s support those in our own backyard first. If we do our bit and choose “local first” it will go a long way in supporting our economy.

The local first campaign is celebrating what’s homegrown in Hinkler and will run from 17 November 2025 – 12 December 2025.
