Hinkler small business survey launched

The Federal Member for Hinkler David Batt MP is taking the pulse of local small businesses.

Mr Batt today launched a short survey to better understand exactly what challenges businesses are facing.

“From rising electricity and fuel costs to higher rents and increasing red tape, many local businesses are being pushed to the limit.

At the same time, workforce shortages and supply chain issues are making it harder to keep doors open and plan,” Mr Batt said. “Small businesses provide local jobs, support families, and help our community thrive. Feedback will help shape the conversations I take to Canberra and ensure Hinkler businesses are properly represented. I will always encourage our community to support local first.”

The survey coincides with Queensland Small Business Month which is held in May and celebrates the vital role small and family businesses play in building local communities.

Bundaberg Chamber of Commerce President Tim Sayre is urging local businesses to have a say.

“Everybody is time poor these days, but this survey is vital when decisions are made about our region and I urge everyone to take the survey,” Mr Sayre said. “Taking just a few minutes to complete the survey, can mean the difference between greater support for our regional economies and businesses, or not – it’s that simple. This information will paint a significant picture of how our region is fairing, and I urge every small business owner and manager to fill this out, and to ask others to do likewise. Every bit of information gathered helps in the fight to grow our businesses and to grow our region.”

The Coalition is committed to protecting Australians way of life and restoring their living standards. “We stand for lower inflation, lower interest rates and lower taxes,” Mr Batt explained. Australians need an energy policy based on common sense – not Labor’s flawed Net Zero ideology.

That’s why the Nationals launched the cheaper, better, fairer energy plan. Small business surveys can be completed online or hard copies which have been distributed across the electorate can be submitted.

NOTE: This week marks the one-year anniversary of Mr Batt being elected to Federal Parliament.
